2019 is the year February went on for so long, it felt like there were more than 28 days This phenomenon also reflected in the number of books I read this month. Where I only read 5 books in January, I saw myself finishing 11 books in February. I reviewed some of these books here already. Many have/will not get full reviews but I’ll share some of my thoughts as we go along. This has to be the latest blog wrapup in the history of monthly wrap-ups. Guess this is how you know I’m Nigerian, right? (Too soon?). However, in the spirit of sticking to my commitments, I am now doing this in mid-February. Hopefully, you’ll find it useful and it would have been worth it. Lol. First, some (big) news… I started a book club. April! April!! April!! The month I “discovered” audio books. Anyone who knows me will know I don’t particularly like experiments. I’ll do it if the potential reward is enticing enough but you won’t catch me on any adventures. There will be no bungee jumping here… Unless there’s money to be saved in the process. Then I am in!! What can I say? It’s the Ijebu in me. Which is what brought me to audio books, I just wanted to read Stay With Me, a book I had waited for almost as long as this blog has existed. The promise of […]
March was something of a bland month. I don’t know what it is, a lot of activities happened in March yet I can’t seem to point to one thing that makes the month stand out. What’s up with that? Despite that I feel some type of way about March, there are a number of things I should be happy about. For one, I started my exercise regimen again… I don’t think I mentioned it here before, but I am a Pilates gal. I stopped exercising regularly a while back and even though I hated how weak I got, I just couldn’t get […]
This month has to be my worst month for reading since I started this blog. I only managed to finish one book, mainly because I made the mistake of signing up for Netflix. If you are familiar with this blog, then you know I got lost in the ocean of TV Series for almost 5 years before I came back to books. Hopefully, I’ll find my willpower somewhere between Dr Who and Shadowhunters and catch up on my reading in March. Book Reviews I did manage to churn out a number of reviews this month, along with my active contributors. […]
January was a transformative month for me and my blog. I got to set in motion things that had been living in my head for months
I didn’t write a lot this month, mainly because of laziness and partly because I was adjusting to taking more responsibility this month. Okay, it was laziness.
November was a great month; even though I didn’t post as much as I should have, but it’s not all about quantity, is it? I didn’t get to go to Ake Festival 2016, which was disappointing but ended up being okay. Everything does happen for a reason.
